I lived on D-4 in Dakin during my first year at Hampshire. I lived on a quiet fourth floor hall, and it was pretty conducive to getting a LOT of work done, which was my primary focus because I wanted to get a lot of my Division I work out of the way.
The rooms in Dakin were an ok size — I was in one of the corner rooms at the end of the hall, and that was actually nicer, because I had a slightly larger window, and a nice view (because I didn’t face the quad side) and it was quieter.
I also liked the fact that since my hall was at one of the ends of the building NO ONE could walk through our bathroom. I HATED that about Dakin actually. 😝
The Lounge was ok, it was pretty basic, and our balcony faced the Dakin Quad, and that was fine. I spent VERY little time in my lounge actually, because I was usually VERY busy when I was on campus, or I was over in Merrill (where my boyfriend lived) or I was off campus.
